Zoom Teeth Whitening Before And After, So when I was given to trial that a Philips Zoom Whitening remedy at Quality Dental in North Sydney, I signed up myself, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I had a few reservations. Here I’ve got them down to five items that I wish I’d known before I nervously booked in for the therapy – things you should learn if you’re thinking about whitening your teeth also.
It Really Doesn’t Hurt
I promise! I was all cold sweats and apprehensive angst before the first round, of the 3 software, was applied. However, I was pleasantly surprised! OK, it doesn’t enjoy a decorative or spine-tingling massage, but it was really nice and it just felt stranger than anything else.
However, the following day is when your teeth feel a little sensitive and you’re able to get a couple of shooting sting-like pains. But they were very short lived and didn’t stop me from eating and drinking as usual (just light-colored things, more on this below). I was provided a gel that also helped to calm any sensitivity I’d after the therapy. This was actually the most embarrassing part of the entire thing — but it just feels strange and like you’ve eaten some ice cream too quickly! You know that sensitive twinge you get? Yeah, that feeling.
Your Own Choice Of The Dentist Could Make All the Difference
Philips Zoom ambassador Dr. Luke Cronin walked through the entire process before I even got into the dental chair, answered all my (annoying) queries, and completely explained the entire procedure. He also did a great job of protecting my gums before he started the treatment — he applied a rubber-like product, I envision looks like wall filler, which set and provided a barrier for my teeth. Subsequently the hydrogen peroxide gel has been employed to my teeth, the blue light switched on and I was compelled to watch TV — with little to no distress at all. The blue light component is exactly what sets Zoom apart, called the White Speed Light it increases the bleaching reaction of the hydrogen peroxide in the gel to deliver accelerated whitening.
The treatment itself only takes approximately 45 minutes, but you should allow more for your pre and post consultation. The very best advice I could give is, do not be afraid to ask too many questions. Before, during, after — the practice and their dental team are there to allow you to feel confident and comfortable with your decision.
You Are Not Actually Bleaching the Outside Of Your Tooth
That is what I thought also. But Dr. Luke showed me this awesome diagram of your tooth and it’s in fact the second layer of your tooth, which holds the color (and can get yellow) so that’s the bit that needs lightening. This means you are not eroding the exterior of the tooth whatsoever (a frequent misconception).
The Results Are Really Quite Impressive
True story. I always thought my teeth were not too bad, but with a closer look at the before and after shots, you can clearly see the difference in color. (Along with my goggle mark! Coolness.)
If you want the results to stay forever, you need to devote to maintaining dark and highly-staining foods and beverages far, far away out of your mouth for two weeks. Lucky for me, I’d decided to go on a pre-birthday detox only a couple of days before my treatment — so tap on the back for another reason to deny caffeine and alcohol cravings.
Overall, I was super-happy with the outcomes, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to brighten their smile.
